Monday in class:
   Welcome back everyone!!! These next few weeks are going to fly by. Today in class we are working revising our papers and our final presentations. Our group is working on Net Neutrality and we are working on a sweet mashup for our final presentation. Also I am kind of excited that this semester is coming to a close. I want to go onto other classes and continue learning. Also I am very much looking froawrd to christmas break. I cant wit to have a break from school. :)

         Well its time to finish this semester strong. Thanksgiving break was not long enough. But only 2 weeks and it will be finals week.  I am anxious to see every one's finished project. Our group has been working really hard on compiling our mash up and preparing for our final presentation for the class.  I do like that we have had time in class to work and discuss with our groups. also I have utilized a lot of that time to revise and expand on my final paper. This week will be a lot of hard work to compile a finished product but it will feel good to finally be finished and show what we have been working on.

Today in Class:
  Happy Monday everyone!!!! It is a winter wonderland outside. Today we are discussing the threads that our class mates have participated in. We are instructed to discuss and add comments to the thread on the founder of the geek squad. 
  I have been working on my final draft of my paper and really working on intext citations and making it a better finished product. We are also working on our final project to present as a group and working with all of the aspects that we have learned. I am excited to see what other groups in the class have come up with and the topics in which they are working on.

  I cant wait for break!!!!!

Friday in class,
  I am feeling a little stressed because I have been sick and It is really ahrd for me to concentrate on my studies and projects. I have a lot going on right now with work, Dance team, and school. I cant wait until thanksgiving break but at the same time I just want it to be over. I am having a minor surgery and I am not looking forward to it. As of now and working on the final project I feel like we have covered so much since the semester started. I really feel like I have worked hard in the class to expand my knowledge on everything we have worked on.

Today our first draft of our final paper was due! I don't like when others ask for more time because of their ignorance. I feel that everyone has packed schedules and everyone handles stress differently and different time mgmt skills. I think that people should work harder and expect a lot of work since we are in college. During class we figured out how to add a drop down menue tab for our web site for our final project. I think that our final project will be really cool with all of our collaborative thoughts. I have also been not feeling well lately whicks sucks and I feel like I have not had as much enthuasm in class. Sorry Everyone. I cannot wait til thanksgiving break... 

   4 more days!!!!

Monday In class:
  Today we are going to continue working with the FLASH program. Working with fal files and sws files. This is a very cheap and easy way to improve websites and make them fun.  If you are thinking you will find the answer. We are also using class time to work on the final project.

Our group follow up:
  We are creating one big mashup with each of us making a web page with a specific concept of Net Neutrality which is our topic for the final project. We are all going to discuss the issues of for, against, legal issues, and related issues with net neutrality. We are working on our individual papers that are due on Wednesday.. 5,000 words which is about 4 to 5 pages of reasearch on this topic.  The final papers are dues on wednesday at 10 am.  And to be submitted in the drop box.

Friday in class:
  Today we are looking at Adobe Flash. It is a similar program meshed together such as movie maker and dream wever. It is basically making a movie of whatever you want drawing shapes and such. Using all these tools are very similar to dream wever but the flash program has many disserent levels of complexity. This project is very fun once the skills are devloped. Continue working on the final project and figuring out what the final steps are. I like learning new things that I would have not worked with if not for this class.

Wednesday in class:
    Today our mashup is due! After troubleshooting most of the night I am working on puting my working url up for the assignment. I really like how we have had a lot of time in class to work on thigs individualy and having the extra time to work toward  our final projects.
    Today we are also discussing "the things we can live without". can we really live without technology? I think not. I think that if we did not have technology than we would be stuck in a world that had no intertainment and less networking and a lot of companies as well as businesses would suffer. There would be mass cayoss at first but im sure we could adapt. Humanity is advanced enough that people would find a way to make things work and continue doing and using these ways to make lives easier.


YAYYY!!! I finally figured out why my mashup wasn't working but no worries I got it!!

Monday in class:
   Today we are contuinuing to work on the mash ups we started on Friday. We are working toward a final product to submit on Wednesday.  This mash up assignment is very complicated for me because I have never worked with it. But with guidance Im sure that I can master the skills of the tools.

REQUIREMENTS:
 For this assignment you will create and mount on the WWWeb (i.e. your HuskyNet Web space account) a Web site that consist of at least 5 (five) Web pages created by you, using a Web editing tool such as Macromedia Dreamweaver, Microsoft Front Page. Your site must includes:

• a personal subject or theme of importance to you and (hopefully) your viewers.
• at least two graphic images on each page, necessary to convey your message (don't just insert randomly any image)
  • in addition to the images above, have at least one animated gif image
  • in addition to the images above, have at least one transparent gif image
• links to at least eight other WWWeb locations that, again, are logical extensions of your message

meeting the basic requirements for design and content will bring you points. Using advanced techniques like animated gif, tables, forms, well-designed pages in terms of colors, space, naming conventions, etc. will bring you another set of points.

• In addition, you need to have on your Web site:
  • audio – whereas this can be embedded audio, or audio linked from a streaming server and similar service
  • video - whereas this can be embedded audio, or audio linked from a streaming server and similar service (e.g., YouTube)

Friday in class:
  Today we are working on the basics of creating a mashup. Some of the basics are kinda confusing but with practice it will come. Like embedding a youtube video into your webpage. In order to view the video you must go to VIEW in the browser you want. we will be working toward a finished product that is due on Wednesday! Work outside of class on using the tools and trial and error.

Wednesday in class:
  Discussion on the digital divide. Find someone that is not computer illiterate and help or educate them on how to do basic things. We are teaching people how to use software and not really teaching them how to use computers. Examples of this would be children not having computers growing up and really using the technology and not just the software. If you know computer architecture then you will always know how to relate to computers. In africa they dont even have electricity so they cannot even stay caught up with the basic technology. We can never close the gap because people will always be left out.


Mash ups;
  What kind of mash up do we want to use... the project that is due on the 10th is just an exercise that we are proving to know the ways of using mash ups.


Google Earth:
      Create a trip to your dream destination using google earth. provide URL so everyone can enjoy it.

I cannot belive that today is the second of November. This semester has already flewn by. I hope everyone is staying on top of things. :) I cant wait to see final projects!

Monday in Class:
   Share thoughts on how things are going regarding the final project. Today we will also be covering the article "digital devide" and prepare for Wednesday what did you get from the article. Reflect within your blog what is the strong and weak part of the article.

 Voicethread:
  Create an account and within a group discuss a topic as well as play a game. create and share as well as provide a link to view our group conversation. I really enjoy this program and I think that this is really fun! I wish you didn't have to pay to form a group. I think this is awsome that you can chat in a similar way of skype but this program offers soo many more tools than just using voice.

This program would be sooo cool to hold online classes as well as lectures on. This gives complete interaction over the internet.
